Each journey follows one thing through the cooperative: a new member, a deposit, a loan, a payout, the year-end. Every money step needs two different people, and the system records who did what.
Societyflow ships with the officer roles of a typical cooperative executive. A duty is a permission to take one kind of step. The same person can hold several roles, but the two-person rules still apply to them.
Societyflow calls this maker-checker: one person prepares a money action, a different authorised person completes it. Nobody completes their own request.
Plain definitions of the terms you will meet on screen, in letters and in the reports.
Where each screen lives, who uses it and which journeys pass through it. Use it as the table of contents of the operations documentation.
Every deposit, withdrawal, loan, fee and expense writes one balanced journal: what it debits (Dr) always equals what it credits (Cr). This map lists each automatic posting, what triggers it and the chart rows it moves, so you can read the general ledger without guessing. Codes with a green ring are control accounts: they move only through the posting shown here, never through a manual journal.
The system rows every society starts with, with the postings that move each one. Rows the society adds itself (named expense accounts, extra reserves) are moved by vouchers and manual journals only.
